St. Luke's United Methodist Church operates a number of different ministries to serve our diverse and growing number of church members:


Senior Ministries

The Joy Club meets at 10:30 a.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Fellowship Hall. This senior citizen gathering provides a program, games, and luncheon.

Transportation is available. Call 452-6262 for more information.

Ministries for Women

United Methodist Women fellowship, study and service organization for women of all ages, both members and non-members. Meets as total group each month. Meets in smaller groups at various times throughout the year. Call 452-6262 for more information.

Intercessory Prayer Breakfast, Wednesdays, 6:45 a.m.
Fellowship Hall

Children's Ministries

Sunday School, 9:35 - 10:35 a.m.

Young children are a very important part of the ministry at St. Luke's. Child care for pre-schoolers is available at all worship services and major church functions. Children ages 3 to Kindergarten have an opportunity to go to Children's Church after the children's sermon in the 10:50 worship service.

Wednesday Night Choir 6:30 - 7:20 p.m., ages 3 to 5th grade

Summer Programs

Summer is a special time for St. Luke's children and their friends. The church provides exciting, active Christian learning experiences. The many faceted program gives challenging and innovative opportunities for growth. It offers:

  • Vacation Church School - ages 3-12 in June.
  • Lakeshore Camp - A conference-wide summer camping program for grades 3 through 12.

Scouting Ministries

St. Luke's sponsors Boy Scout Troop 40, which is the oldest continuously chartered troop in Memphis. Boy Scouts aged 11-18 meet Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. Cub Scouts meet on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m.

Scout News -- February, 2004

Troop 40 has just returned from a trip which included camping in Missouri's Trail of Tears State Park, hiking 10 miles on the OT (Ozark Trail), and passing over Missouri's highest point, Taum Sauk Mountain at 1772 feet. Taum Sauk Mountain is Troop 40's seventh state high point this scouting season.
