Much has been in the news recently about the United Methodist Church. What are the possible outcomes of the upcoming General Conference? How will it affect local churches and pastors? How do those of us who have differences of opinions talk and listen to each other gracefully? If you have these or other concerns and questions, the workshop described below is for you! St. Luke’s will host, and offer this opportunity to congregations within the Memphis Conference. Please join us!”

Christians in Conversation in a Polarized Culture: Human Sexuality and the Future of The United Methodist Church: This workshop, offered by the Methodist House of Studies at Memphis Theological Seminary and The Turner Center for Church Leadership, is focused on preparing pastors and lay people for difficult conversations around human sexuality and the future of  the United Methodist Church in anticipation of the 2020 General Conference.

At this retreat, we will provide models for conversations that engage in difference without resorting to argument.
